Black Pearl are excellent. The first spot is a bit heavier than the other similar bands on the circuit and the new lead singer had loads of energy!! He came on in a Kilt which was different! He seems to laugh a lot too? The drummer is Danny Needham, one of the best drummers I have ever seen and quite a showman. (He also plays with the Tony Martin Band).
Apart from the lead singer they have all played with the Billy Black Band and Alexanders Palace. Very entertaing they are too, their set list is as follows: Long Train Running, Boys of Summer, Feel like making love, Can't get enough of your love, With a little help from my friends, Painted Black, Wishing Well, Live n let die, You give love a bad name, Livin' on a prayer, Smooth, Best days of my life, Honky tonk woman, Keep the faith, Smoke on the Water. -

BON JORDI
He sounded like him - and looked like him (from the back anyway) and Bon Jordi really got the crowd going.
They sang all the songs you'd expect to hear from Bon Jovi, plus a few more rock songs in the second half. He did talk quite a bit though and fancies himself as a bit of a comedian! and to be honest his jokes were quite funny. On the whole they were a pretty decent band. - C [back to top]

With Paul’s personal connections with ‘FOREIGNER and John having just completed an arena tour of the UK with John Parr supporting ‘JOURNEY’ The concept was born, a tribute to both these amazing bands. LEEROY JOHNSON
Leeroy Johnson seems to have found his niche in the music business now! Having seen him in "Johnson" and "Hitsville" he was the youngest member of the bands and he now has a band of his very own. He crammed so many songs into his set, and he didn't speak much in the first spot, but by the second set, he had the audience eating out of his hand and everybody loved them. They were very talented too, the bass and two lead guitars were very tight and an excellent drummer too. Make sure you catch them next time they are in the area.

NYC
A sensational all male vocal trio. You are sure to have a party night with these guys. They carry a 3K P.A system and an excellent intelligent lighting rig and are without doubt, the most indemand male vocal harmony trio in the UK.
All three members take their turn at lead vocals as well as providing superb harmonies. A slick and dynamic show that predominantly features the fabulous music of Motown & Soul - contrasted with high energy pop. A packed dance floor and a great atmosphere are the hallmarks of any NYC gig.

THE PIGGIES
Originally formed in 1980, THE PIGGIES were the pioneers of the lookalike/ soundalike age, well before most of the current crop of Tribute Bands were even born. STEELER
"Steeler has been on the road for over 15 years, they are currently with the Dixon Agency and do a lot of work in the North East, All Steeler dates can be found on www.malaki.org . The current lineup is, Steve Gray from Rotherham on Drums he is also band leader. An amazing drummer with a fantastic array of great powerful sounds at his finger tips and rarely misses a beat. Bass guitar, is Steve Humphreys, From the Manor in Sheffield, a true genious on the bass guitar, he also takes lead vocals on a few tracks including Eddie Van Halens Jump, and Whole Lotta Rosie. Front Man Shaun Tomlinson (Tommo) from Sheffield. The best man in the business for getting an audience on the side of the band, no matter how the audience feel, Tommos, we're from the home of football war cry alway gets a laugh even in Newcastle, and after a song he will shout "CHEER, Pretend it's new years eve and it's free beer and there is a good turn on CHEER" He can be a bit "X" rated at times but no one can take offence at this man who commands the stage. Keyboards P.C. Simon Evens, Even though Simon is no longer a Police Officer he is still announced as one it always gets a moan and a laugh, Tommo always warnes the audience, "If anyone has any drugs or illegal Cigs"..............................Simon will buy em" Not only a great keyboard player, an excellent singer a guitarist too, his vocals on Bon Jovis "Bed of Roses" are just like the record he sings and plays and it sounds just amazing. Lead Guitar, Ken Sturt AKA Malaki (pronounced Mall-Ack-Eye) newest member of Steeler , joined 3rd March 2006. Known more for the "Malaki Roadshows" Where he does a Joe Satriani tribute show, has fitted in with the band really well and has lifted the Steeler sound to a new level. A fantastic sound and a very experienced guitarist. Towards the end of the night he does a solo bit using digital delays where by he replicates Brian Mays BRIGHTON ROCK SOLO, never fails to amaze and impress. www.malaki.org for more details. SOUND MAN, IAN PECK, Last but not least the man that makes it all happen, one of the best sound men in the business, Ian has been with the band since the start, he single handedly controls a 10k rig and also a massive lighting rig, drives the van and gets the guys and the gear to every gig safely.Steeler have missed only 4 gigs in their time on the road, these were due to ill health." -

STONEHEART
This band is quite new to our club scene and very entertaining and I totally recommend them! I'm never really that impressed with female fronting rock bands but this band is an exception!
